What is coupehaus about?
Coupehaus is a club formed by a group of friends with a distinctly similar obsession. Originally we started as VW and Audi enthusiasts but times have changed and so have our cars. New names such as Lotus and Porsche have populated our stables recently. Fundamentally we are the same people and we haven't changed the way we modify our cars! The mod's are still as mad and extreme as ever!
Coupehaus is a club that defines extremism. We strive to muster up new ideas for modifications that perhaps haven't been previously seen. Certainly our dash, engine and running gear conversions are examples of this. Not only are the ideas a little different from the norm but also we like to do all the modifications ourselves. As with any great idea, a huge amount of learning and research is completed before we start to tackle the implementation of a modification. Our aim is to continually improve skills and techniques and this sometimes results in the same thing being done many times, learning more with each iteration. From re-spraying to welding , composites to leather trimming, engine and forced induction to running gear conversions there’s nothing we wont try ourselves. In depth details of this can be seen in the individual project pages. Half the fun of doing a project car is learning these new skills and being able to sit back and appreciate them on completion.
The idea for the club was conceived back in May 2005 whilst visiting Austria for the infamous 'Worthersee show' - the largest VW+Audi show in the world! As with many great ideas it was created over a fine pint of cold Austrian beer whilst enjoying the European show atmosphere.
Enjoy the site,
The Coupehaus Team!
